This compatible patch reduces companion recall overhead and locks the stability of companion-injected surfaces.
Changed
- Companion prior-work recall can batch multiple sessions in one call:
load_pak(and its legacy aliasload_capsule) acceptssession_ids(up to 10) andinclude_journal, returning per-session journal digests and Pak content together. Single-session and listing behavior is unchanged. - Companion guidance surfaces (system prompt, agent setup document, tool descriptions) now steer retrieval-before-answering, preferring native memory surfaces ahead of Pak retrieval.
- The pre-send hook emits one deterministic hint (25 tokens or fewer) when
a prompt references prior work and the local journal or Pak store holds
content. An initialized-empty store never hints. The journal store
maintains a zero-byte
journal.db.nonemptymarker for this check and backfills it when opening a store created before this release.
Added
- Conformance tests locking companion-injected surfaces: byte-stability across renders and profiles, and replace-not-accumulate envelope behavior across sequential turns.
Compatibility
- No public API symbols added, removed, or changed (snapshot verified: 4634 symbols, version field only). The new MCP tool parameters are optional; existing calls behave identically. Proxy request and response bodies remain byte-preserved.
